Burkina Faso's investment in production and infrastructure will result in an increase in Land Values
who will benefit from this Flow of Value?
Will a few become billionaires or will all Burkinabé citizens benefit in ever improving quality of education, medical care, housing, transparency in government, infrastructure, serf sufficiency and food and financial sovereignty?
This increase in land values and the associated productivity will always occur when a country or a government takes money and uses it for investment in its infrastructure. Ethically the benefit should be properly shared, if and when all of the land is owned by the nation as a whole and the law has been arranged for those who occupy it to return as a lease-fee its ground rent. The privilege of having access rights to a site of useful land means that the occupier should pay because he is stopping others from enjoying this right and benefiting from it.
Interesting and important to know about this major concrete plant development. I left a comment that we also want to know about the land nationalization program and if the government will use GIS land mapping. Also, if there are plans to capture the land rent for the people and to finance infrastructure instead of taxing labor and capital.
