We communicated a few years ago about a land value capture pilot I’ve been working on in Vanuatu through its economic development zones. That work is still moving forward (slowly!)
In the meantime, I’ve joined Albright Stonebridge Group and we’re trying to promote this concept for Ukrainian reconstruction. I would love your thoughts and to discuss ways of working with the Lincoln Institute on it. We’d like to make it part of the discourse and convene a round table of influential economists and policy makers who might implement it.
Please feel free to circulate it with your colleagues and broader network. Online version is here.
Thanks,
Michael Castle-Miller

The rebuilding of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake was funded by mayor Edward Taylor imposing Land Value Tax which avoided having to tax earned incomes and minimised the costs of reconstruction. Taylor was a friend of Henry George.
The elephant in the room is what will be the class nature of the subsequent goverment! Currently, through all manner of intimidation and threats there is no room for creativity and innovation. The US empire wants a docile, obedient client state, which would be incompatible with the kind of innovation proposed here.
